Expanding Our Reach

We’ve got three exciting pieces of news to share today:

  1. Lemontree serves Atlanta.
  2. Lemontree serves Columbus.
  3. Lemontree serves Charlotte.

As they say, good things come in threes! To our neighbors in these new cities, we’re honored to serve you in the same way we’ve served families across NYC, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Boston, DC, and Baltimore.

Our team started this work in New York during the pandemic, but we knew that food insecurity affected our neighbors across the country, and we’re thrilled to be expanding our reach into the Midwest and further south.

Lemontree connects hungry families to free food in their backyard through a tech-enabled food helpline and an online directory. One in eight families in Atlanta, Columbus, and Charlotte doesn’t have enough to eat–we’re determined to change that. We’re looking forward to helping these neighbors access the food they deserve, thanks to the help of some special partners.

We’re incredibly grateful to our longtime partner, CVS Health, for supporting our expansion to Charlotte. CVS was one of our first corporate volunteer partners, and to this day, CVS associates are some of our most devoted helpers–we spotlighted one of their stories in a profile on the Points of Light blog!

We’re also indebted to Shipt for supporting our expansion to Atlanta. This year, Lemontree was awarded a grant through their Community Impact and Innovation initiative, a program designed to support organizations making transformational changes in their local communities with a focus on innovative solutions reducing the logistical barriers to food security and resilience.

Thanks again to CVS, Shipt, and the entire family of supporters who make our work possible across every region we serve. Last year, we served only three geographies. Today, we serve nine. Lemontree has connected over 100,000 households to food (click here to see what that looks like), and we truly could not have done it without these partners.

We’re nearly done with our 2023 expansion, but we’ve got two more cities on our list–can you guess where Lemontree will go next?
